What Is Gelato & Gelati?
Gelato is the Italian word for ice cream. In the United States, Gelato is a frozen dessert made with whole milk and no added cream. The milk fat content in our gelato is 7% which is less than most ice cream. Usually, gelato does not contain eggs, nor does it have as much air whipped into it while freezing. The gelato at Arctic Ape is churned in our machines and soft served, always in the exact amount our customers want.
Our delicious Gelati is a layered dessert made with an Italian Ice combined with either custard, gelato, or frozen yogurt flavor.

Creations by the Arctic Ape
While he doesn't like to brag, the Arctic Ape carries the highest certification from the Ice Cream Origin Institute in Kaktovik, Alaska. As a master, he has designed 1000's of desserts for some of the top chiefs in the world. After years of working for others, he decided to establish a business of his own that specialized in delighting ice cream lovers.
One of his favorite Frozen Gelato creations is this: Strawberry Gelato ice cream with chocolate shavings, freshly-cut garden fresh strawberries, a shot of coconut syrup, whipped cream, mint leaves, and a cherry on top. Yes, it's delicious.
